De hora da infância eu não fui
Como outros foram, eu não vi
Como outros viram, eu não poderia trazer
Paixões de uma fonte comum.
Da mesma fonte que eu não tenha tomado
Minha tristeza, eu não poderia despertar
Meu coração de alegria no mesmo tom;
E tudo que eu amei, amei sozinho.
Então, na minha infância, na madrugada
De uma vida mais tempestuoso foi elaborada
De cada profundidade do bem e do mal
O mistério que ainda me liga:
Da torrente ou da fonte,
A partir do penhasco vermelho da montanha,
Do sol que me ronda laminados
No seu tom de outono de ouro,
Do relâmpago no céu
Como ele passou voando por mim,
A partir do trovão e da tempestade,
E a nuvem que tomou a forma
(Quando o resto do céu era azul)
De um demônio na minha opinião.

From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
