"Ó, me ajude na minha fraqueza",
Ouvi o andarilho dizer,
Enquanto eles o arrastaram da sala do tribunal
E o levaram para longe.
"Minha viagem não foi agradável,
Meu tempo não é longo,
E eu ainda não sei
O que foi que fiz de errado."
Bem, o juiz botou sua toga de lado,
Uma lágrima veio aos seus olhos,
"Você não consegue entender,", disse ele,
"Por que você deve tentar?"
Lá fora, a multidão estava agitada,
Você podia ouvi-lá da porta.
No interior, o juiz estava abdicando o cargo,
Enquanto o júri clamava por mais.
"Ó, pare aquele júri amaldiçoado",
Gritaram o atendente e o enfermeiro,
"O julgamento foi ruim o suficiente,
Mas isso é dez vezes pior."
Só então, um raio forte de luz
Atingiu o tribunal de uma forma desvanecida,
E quando todos se ajoelharam para rezar,
O andarilho escapou.
"Oh, help me in my weakness,"

While the jury cried for more.
"Oh, stop that cursed jury,"
Cried the attendant and the nurse,
"The trial was bad enough,
But this is ten times worse."
Just then a bolt of lightning
Struck the courthouse out of shape,
And while ev'rybody knelt to pray
The drifter did escape.
