Então naquele velho carvalho eu finalmente a vi
Onde ela se sentou contemplando seu par
E a música que cantava
Parecia dizer "Eu vou ficar bem aqui"
"Eu queria ir mas seu amor me fez ficar"
Ele teve uma asa quebrada
E é por isso que não pode voar
Ela simplesmente não pode abandoná-lo ali
Então ela fica do lado dele
Eles são simplesmente como eu e você
Oh você deveria ter ouvido ela cantar
Eles não vão desistir
É só uma ave quebrada
Eu queria que todos nós pudéssemos aprender
O que eles parecem ter encontrado

In our front yard
I thought by now that they should all be gone.

Surely something must be wrong.
Then in that old oak tree I finally saw her
Where she sat gazing down upon her mate

Seemed to say "I'll be right here"
"I'd like to go, but your love's made me stay."

So she stays by his side
